GIIC Welcomes Five New Board Members

Girls Inc. of the Island City held its 2019 – 2020 Board of Directors Installation on Tuesday, September 10th. Board members, staff, and special guests mingled and celebrated the coming year.

Special thanks to Nancy O’Malley, Alameda County District Attorney, for officiating & hosting our event at the Clinton Pool and to our Board President, Luzanne Engh, and CEO, Christine Chilcott, for presenting.

A big thanks to George Phillips and Jean Wagner for helping with the logistics of the event; Al Wright of Raintree Studios for taking photos; and Scolari’s Good Eats, Café Jolie, Sidestreet Pho, Herbs & Spices Catering, Greens & Grains, Crispian Bakery, and Starbucks on Park for their delicious food and drink donations.

In addition to our wonderfully diverse and talented returning board members, we have five new members who share our passion for empowering girls and teens in Alameda. Welcome to new board members Ann Blake, Andrea Carlise, Maggie Derr, Anne Kohler, and Amy Patick!
