Girls Incorporated of the Island City offers a before and after school child care service for boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade at seven elementary school sites, including Bay Farm, Earhart, Edison, Franklin, Lum, Otis, and Paden.

All children enrolled with Alameda Island Kids must be enrolled at the school where we provide care. We do take children who are not part of our regular school program on AUSD non-student days and special enrollment periods like Holiday Break, Trimester Break, and Spring Recess.

The emphasis of our childcare program is to expand - not merely extend - a child's day and we continue to follow best practices in the field of licensed child care, which includes a mixed balance elements that make an after school program successful: physical activities, nutritious snacks science, arts and crafts, conflict resolution, field trips, quiet time for the kindergarteners, free choice, and homework support.
